Wargame: Red Dragon’s ‘Map Pack #1’ Preview

Finally, Wargame: Red Dragon‘s ‘Map Pack #1’ is about to be released!

It will bring you 6 new multiplayer maps, all of them coming in both Conquest & Destruction mode, making a total of 12 variations.

  • (1v1) Mud Fight !
  • (1v1) Paddy Field
  • (2v2) Highway to Seoul (small)
  • (3v3) Highway to Seoul (large)
  • (4v4) The Battle of Yuchalnok Pass
  • (4v4) The Green Mile

The brand new Highway to Seoul map, with its two different settings, has already been introduced here, therefore let’s focus on the other four.

Up close and personal

As its name implies, Mud Fight! has been tailored for 1v1 close encounters. If you like ‘full and frank exchange of views’, this map is made for you: you shouldn’t wait long before getting to grip with your opponent.

Rice of the Dragon

Although a 1v1 map too, Paddy Fields shall be more maneuver-oriented. The setting provides ample room for flanking maneuvers and combat for peripheral objectives.

Like a bridge over troubled water

The Battle of Yuchalnok Pass makes use of the map Strait to the Point, but with a diamond-shaped starting configuration. Both side’s central starting/reinforcement zone are in the thickest of the fight, perfect to quickly bring reinforcements … but both are equally subjected to enemy flanking attacks.

I’m short of a pun …

No “holding the command zone in the back while breaching the enemy front” in the Green Mile, for command zones are literarily the frontline. You will have to secure and hold them while fighting the enemy on their very ground all along the frontline.

The patch being in testing phase right now, schedule for release has been moved from “soon” to “imminent“.  😉

What about the EE and ALB Maps? Did not you want to include the most popular ones? What was all the Voting for?

    Hi!
Thanks for the updates. 🙂 That bring revival to a game that I love and can sink a few more hundred gaming hours into.
I cannot find a preliminary release date. Is there one yet?

All the best, guys & gals!

    Please do more 4vs4, 5vs5, 6vs6, 7vs7, 8vs8 Maps!

Would be also cool if it’s a few paths/bridges to go instead of a big and open field

Great maps! Really cool. And nice update for fighters. But what about T72b obr. 87 and 89? They are too expencive, really. We have T80U costs 155 and much better then T72b obr 89… very much. So maybe You can decrease the price of T72b orb 87 and 89? For example 115 and 135.

When will this patch be available for Mac users? We are effectively shut out of playing the game right now. That is pretty lame, we pay the same amount of money as everyone else and yet you effectively shut down the game for us while we wait. Not only are we simply waiting, we are waiting without a date or official response as to when the Mac update will be released.

Why not simply wait until all versions are ready and release at the same time?
